“Romeo and Juliet” | Elena Mavridou

Acting Workshop with Elena Mavridou

William Shakespeare wrote “Romeo and Juliet” between 1591 and 1595, before he even turned 30. Guided by the masterpiece of the English poet and playwright, and using the theatrical mask as a tool, the workshop by the Theatre Company Choros with Elena Mavridou aims to explore the central archetypal characters, both young and old, in one of the most poignant love stories in world literature.
How can an actor interpret many different roles within the same play?
What is the role of the theatrical mask?
How does the body transform, and how does speech emerge through it?
Participants will work on the text of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” Good physical condition is required.
