“I often collaborate with young children, and each time I am impressed by their positive response to rhythm. For this reason, I approach the entire performance as a choreography, where rhythm and the desire to play are an integral part of the directing. Melodies and dynamic rhythms alternate, creating a pulsating sound environment that frames the action. In my two previous works, I combined elements of comics and silent cinema with musical accompaniment. This enhances the coexistence and alternation of comedic and dreamlike moments. In ‘OΠ!’ I add acrobatics and elements emerging from the magical world of the circus to the narration. ‘OΠ!’ represents, for me, a mixture of exploration, observation, and discovery of the inner thread connecting my adult self with the eternal child within me. Memories, experiences, emotions, as well as artistic works—such as the films *The Red Balloon*, *The General*, or books by Jon Klassen, among others—together with the acquaintance with the multi-layered world of acrobats, formed the materials for the creation and composition of ‘OΠ!’.
The themes I aim to reach the audience with relate to the value of friendship and play, as well as the need for dreaming and connection with the surrounding world. As an artist and a mother, I believe that the most important moments in our lives arise from the ability to combine desires with empathy, imagination with reality, the organized with the unexpected. Only in this way do we discover the ‘mythical’ within relationships.”
